Q. I would like help researching on the topic "Is the US a religious country".
You can use the Advanced Search of the Library Catalog (second tab on the left in the middle of the library homepage) to search for books on your topic. For instructions, see here. Try these suggested search terms in the catalog:
church and state
christianity and politics
Through these searches in the catalog, I found some books that seem to align well with your topic.
You might also want to try searching some of the library databases. I suggest you start with the Opposing Viewpoints database. You'll find it through the Databases tab on the library homepage>>"O">>Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Try searching for: church and state. You'll then find viewpoint articles, such as "America is a Christian Nation" and "America is a Secular Nation."
Finally, I suggest you try searching in the LibSearch - the search box in the middle of the library homepage. It searches many of the library's databases at one time. Here are some suggested search terms for LibSearch:
religion AND politics
church AND state
Add "United States" (using the quotation marks) to any of your searches
To narrow your results, use the “Refine Results” options on the left side of the results screen. You may want to limit your search to "Full Text" and "Scholarly (peer reviewed) Journals". You can also choose to refine by Content Type, Publication Date, or Subject Terms.
