Q. Looking for articles on how Dante's Divine Comedy impacted Italian culture and language.
I suggest you begin with the library's research guide for your class: ENG 2301 - World Literature: Ancient to 17th Century. You can get there yourself through the RESEARCH GUIDES tab on the library homepage and then the "Class Guides" link. I tried searching a few of the databases listed on the main page of the guide. I found the most articles using JSTOR. Try some of the following searches:
"divine comedy" AND italian culture
"divine comedy" AND italian language
I also tried searching LibSearch, which is the search box in the middle of the library homepage https://www.uhd.edu/library/Pages/library-index.aspx. I entered: "divine comedy" AND italian culture. On the results page, I used options in the left column to narrow the search. I chose Full Text and (Scholarly Peer Reviewed) Journals. Under the Limit by Subject heading, you can click the Show More link. Under that link, I chose "influence" and "influence (literary, artistic, etc.)." Here is a link to my search results. Click on an article title to read the abstract summary. I think a few of these articles may be very helpful for your assignment.
I also searched the library catalog and found some books that may be helpful. Dante, the Divine Comedy by Robin Kirkpatrick is an eBook you can access from any computer. From the eBook's catalog page http://library.uh.edu/record=b5034934~S14 click the "UHD Users Only" link and then enter your UHD username and password. Chapter 4 of this book is called "After Dante" and discusses the cultural impact of The Divine Comedy.
