Where can I find information and statistics on crime on college campuses?
Answer
If you are interested in national campus crimes, Office of Postsecondary Education of the U.S. Department of Education collects data about campus crime at this website, http://ope.ed.gov/security/ . It even has functionality to restrict a search to Texas institutions when you look up criminal activity.

For general campus crime research, including prevention programs a good place to start research is on our Criminal Justice library guide found here: http://library.uhd.edu/cj. Choose a database and search terms like:
campus AND crime
universities AND “crime prevention”
campus AND “crime prevention”
Academic Search Complete and Criminal Justice Abstracts may be good databases to start with.
