Q. I'm looking for statistics on school violence.

I need statistics on school violence before the Columbine Shooting that took place on 04/20/99 and the statistics of school violence after the Columbine shootings.

Finding this kind of information in one place can be difficult. You may need to pull it from several resources. Start at the Library Guide for Statistics and Data found here: http://library.uhd.edu/statisticsanddata. Select the tab for “Statistics by Topic” and then “Education.”

This page has several helpful resources. Locate the box titled “US National Data.” The second resource from the bottom is “School Crime and Safety Surveys.” There are several surveys and reports about violence in schools.

To get to a complete list of tables (that date back to 1999), find the heading on the page that says “Crime and Safety Surveys (CSS)”. Click on the symbol to the left of the heading (a red triangle with Crime & Safety Surveys written over it). This will take you to the “Overview” page. From here, underneath the title heading (Crime & Safety Surveys), there is a link for the “Table Library”. In the center of this page, there is a link to “View complete list of SSOCS and SCS data tables.” Here you can get tables dating back to 1999.
