I'm looking for information on how human activities affect the Gulf of Mexico.

Answer

There are a number of resources for information on environmental issues.  Here are three good places to start.

1. The library has a research guide for Environmental Studies.  To find the library research guides, start at the home page at www.uhd.edu/library, and find the tab for RESEARCH GUIDES>>GUIDES BY SUBJECT>>ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES.  Included in this guide are the best databases for environmental research, books, websites, and more.

2. A good place to start research on any topic is with the library’s LibSearch tool found on the homepage at www.uhd.edu/library. LibSearch is a fast and easy way to search books, newspapers, journal articles and trade publications on any topic all in one step. It is a Google-like way to search our library’s collection. Enter you topic in the search box in the center of the screen.

Some suggested search terms:

“human activities” AND “Gulf of Mexico”

“human impact” AND “Gulf of Mexico”
