Answer

For statistics on Houston area real estate market, I suggest you access the HAR (Houston Association of Realtors) press releases here: http://web.har.com/mls/dispPressRelease.cfm?MONTH=01&YEAR=15. They publish annual statistics each year in their January press issue. Use the left-side menu to browse press releases for each year by month.

In addition, you may want to access the Houston Population and Demographics resources here: http://houston.areaconnect.com/statistics.htm. Scroll down to the housing section.

For data on unemployment and business, I suggest you search the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics site at http://www.bls.gov/home.htm. Type Houston, TX in the search box and select Economy at a Glance or Economic Summary reports for Houston area.

As for business growth, I did not find data for Houston. However, Secretary of State press release contains numbers for Texas: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/about/newsreleases/2015/011415.shtml.

In the United States Census Bureau database you will find census data on population, housing, economics, etc.: https://data.census.gov/cedsci/ Type Harris County, TX in the search box. Look on the left to navigate between sections.
