Q. How would I cite a video in APA style?

This is the link: http://vast.alexanderstreet.com/view/1779011

Answer

As far as I understand, the APA Publication Manual is not explicit on how to cite a film from an electronic database. I suggest you follow the citation for a film and add the url from the database. See the library's APA Citation Guide. We have a page on film citation here http://library.uhd.edu/content.php?pid=129851&sid=2572217. On the left of that page, you'll see a box with "information needed." You'll want to include in your citation as much of this information as you have available from the database. Also, scroll down the page and you'll see an example of how to cite a film from the Films on Demand database. This will give you something to go off of for your citation. Unfortunately, I don't see a place where the database you're using, Alexander Street,  has this type of example.

Just above the film viewer for the film you linked, you'll see a "see more details" link. Click this link, and you will get more infomation for your citation.

With a tricky citation like this, it never hurts to send a message to your professor before your assignment is due and ask if your citation is acceptable.
