Q. I am looking for information on Joe Horn shooting. He was acquited by the Harris county jury in 2008. I am looking for a published case.

I searched the WestLaw and LexisNexis databases and found references to "Joe Horn case" but no published case itself.

Answer

A grand jury is the step before a trial case. Neither grand jury cases nor trial cases are published. In both circumstances, the only public information is what the newspapers report. If it did go to court, there will only be a published case if it went to an appeals court (rather than a trial court).
