Q. How do I find Vernon’s annotated statutes?

Answer

Vernon’s annotated statutes (or just Vernon’s) is an annually updated compilation of Texas law. From the Law and Legal Research guide (http://library.uhd.edu/law), choose the link for Westlaw Campus Research. Once in Westlaw, go to the "Law" tab on the top left. From the checkboxes in the middle of the page, check the box for "State Statutes." Then select "Texas" from the drop down menu. Once you've done that, your search in the Westlaw database will be searching within Vernon’s annotated statutes. Add your search terms to the search boxes at the top of the page to search for statutes on a particular topic.
