Q. I am looking for a SWOT Analysis on Chick-Fil-A. Where should I look?
Unfortunately, since Chick-fil-a is a private company and there is comparatively little public information available on it, there is not a ready-prepared SWOT analysis available, as there would be for a public company. If you are required to have one, you may need to do it yourself.
If so, you may want to use some resources available on your Company and Industry Resources Research Guide. On the first page that comes up, you might want to search for current articles on Chick-fil-a on Business Source Complete and ABI/Inform, two journal databases. That may provide information you could use to discuss strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
You can also check the "Company Information" section of the guide. MarketLine Advantage has a company profile that will provide background information, and Hoover's has a brief profile that may give some clues as to strengths and weaknesses. FirstResearch in "Industry Information" section tells you about the restaurant industry as a whole, and information about trends and issues in the Fast-Food and Quick-Service Restaurants industry might be helpful. (Once you're in FirstResearch, just type fast food in the keyword search box.)
