Q. How do I look up if the library has a particular movie?

Answer

You can search the library catalog for films. On the library homepage http://www.uhd.edu/library/ select the dark gray CATALOG tab. Then choose the "Advanced Search Screen" link. In the Location section, choose Limit to UHD. In the Material Type section, choose VIDEO. Then enter the film's title into the search box; you can change "Any Field" to "TITLE" if you know the exact title of the film.

This will bring up films the library owns in any format (online, DVD, VHS, etc.)

You are able to request DVDs from other UH System libraries as long as they are part of General Collections (access the DVD record in the catalog and check the information under LOCATION).

To request a DVD/book, use the request option in the Library Catalog to get the book delivered to the UHD Library Circulation Desk:

    1. Search for the book you want.
    2. Click the title to display the book record.
    3. Click the request button at the top of the screen.
    4. Fill in the form with your name and 900# and then click the submit button.

You will be notified by email when the book is ready to pick up. Books are usually delivered to the Circulation Desk within 5 business days. If the book is checked out to another person, the book will be delivered after the previous borrower returns it.
