Q. How do I search ERIC for a scholarly journal article about distance education?

Answer

Start by going to the library homepage at http://www.uhd.edu/library. Select the DATABASES tab in the middle of the screen. Select "E" and the scroll down to the link for ERIC.

Enter your search terms into the search box. Try "distance education" or "distance learning". Before you hit the "Search" button, click the checkbox for "Scholarly (Peer-reviewed) Journals." You may also want to check the "Full Text" box to limit your search to only articles you can get access to immediately on the computer. You can also limit the search by Education Level (Elementary Education or Higher Education, for example).

Then click the “Search” button. The results you get will be peer-reviewed articles. You can continue to narrow down your search by using the "Refine your results" options in the left column of the Results screen.
