Are the online sources that are available through the library website as good as the print resources?

Answer

It's not necessarily a matter of better or worse, so much a question of how you access materials, availability, and the type of information you are looking for.  That said, the electronic resources may be more up to date.  If you are concerned about the quality of an electronic or and online resource, try using the evaluation tips found here: http://library.uhd.edu/content.php?pid=302078.  Also, if you use resources that are on the library website and in the research guides, then you are using resources that have been vetted by librarians.

Now, there is a distinction between information found in sources like popular magazines and newspapers, such as Newsweek or the Wall Street Journal, and that found in scholarly journals such as the Journal of Economics. It's up to you to know if you are required to have peer-reviewed resources. IF you are, then you should restrict yourself to scholarly journals. Many of our databases have an option under 'advanced search' to restrict your searching to peer-reviewed or scholarly article results.
