All the resources mentioned below are available through http://library.uhd.edu/business/ on the Company and Industry Resources tab. First, to confirm good SIC and NAICS codes for Exxon Mobile search 'oil and gas' on the census tool. Currently the NAICS code you need is 213111. The SIC code is 13.
The resources with industry financial ratios are D&B Key Business Ratios, and Mergent Intellect, all of which are listed under industry ratios in the middle of the page. In D&B, when you select it, it defaults you to SIC code 1. What you want to do is select the drop-down box for SIC code, then scroll down till you find 13, which they call 'oil and gas extraction.' Once you click on that, you’ll get all the industry ratios for the last three years.
