I'm looking for information on UHD's discrimination and harassment policy.

Specifically, I would like to know who is in charge of keeping the policy updated? I'm researching professors who identify as LGBTQ and how they are affected by discrimination from students. I'm interested to know if students judge their professors based on their sexual orientation and how it is a concern to educators.

Answer

For information on discrimination policies for the UHD, try reading through the policies here on discrimination and harassment: https://www.uhd.edu/administration/title-ix-equity-diversity/Pages/policies.aspx.  It can provide you with helpful definitions.  You can also reach the UHD Office of Title IX/Equity & Diversity.

For other information on the topic, you may try researching the subject in one of our databases.  Check out our library guide for Gender Studies here: http://library.uhd.edu/genderstudies.  Start with the SocINDEX database (from the center column) and search: “sexual orientation” and “Higher Education”.  This may help provide some general information on the topic.
