(1) Go to our catalog at http://library.uh.edu/search~S14
(2) Click the “Subject” tab and copy/paste into the search box: African Americans — Education (higher) — Texas — History
(3) In the drop-down menu to the right of the search boxyou may want to select: “Limit by UHD” and click the “Search” button
(4) In the results screen, you should find some material that includes the time period you are interested in.

To find articles on your topic

1. Start with the library home page at http://www.uhd.edu/library/.
2. Then choose the dark gray “Research Guides” tab.
3. Choose “Guides by Subject.”
4. Then choose “History.”
5. Search the “Handbook of Texas Online”, “Academic Search Complete”  or "America: History & Life" databases.
