Q

Are there any statistics stating that students would rather live on campus than off?

I know that UHD doesn't currently offer housing, but is there anything that shows that building dorms on campus is a possibility?

Answer

The best place to look for information about UHD is in the UHD Information Guide: http://library.uhd.edu/uhdinfo . From here you can choose the relevant link to your research topic. However, I'm not sure if there has been a study done to determine student interest in campus housing nor am I sure if there has been a feasibility study on building dorms here.

I did find an issue of Dateline (the UHD student newpaper) that addresses the topic. You can access it here: https://www.uhd.edu/student-life/dateline/Documents/issue50-4.pdf. I found this link by searching the UHD website for "dorms." You can try searching the UHD website using similar words to see what you can find.  You could also look for information about the future of UHD on the website or in one of the sites linked in the UHD Information Guide. Look for information on campus planning, campus initiatives, construction, and other like terms.

If you want general information about how students feel about living on campus/having on campus housing available, you could search LibSearch (the default option on the library homepage) for terms such as the following:

dorms

college housing opinion

study college housing

study dorms

To narrow down your results, use the options in the gray sidebar on the left side of the results page. You may also want to contact the organizations or individuals mentioned in the Dateline article.
